Indulge in downtown Chicago’s hottest finds at our urban haven
We tend to draw guests who are inquisitive, curious and continuously on the hunt for the next best thing. Luckily for urban explorers of all ages, our River North hotel is a cornerstone property in what has become Chicago’s hottest neighborhood over the last decade, putting about 50 restaurants and bars within a three-block radius of our downtown retreat.
Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago sits at the vibrant crossroads of world–class shopping, art, culture, sports, dining and nightlife destinations, meaning adventure awaits every time you step foot off our property. Discover countless River North gems right outside our front door, whether you plan to peruse the twinkling cases at Tiffany, visit the famed Art Institute of Chicago, wander through charming Millennium Park or devour the tastiest meal you’ve had in recent memory. There’s no doubt about it; our prime location offers the perfect jumping-off point from which to experience everything Chicago does best.
Chicago is chock-full of fun activities and things to do for everyone - whether you're looking for an educational experience or to let your little ones release all their energy! From toddler's to teens, we have recommendations for you to get out and enjoy the city we love to call home.
We have a rather magnificent neighbor, and the commute couldn’t be shorter. Shopping aficionados will know that we’re referring to North Michigan Avenue, known as the "Magnificent Mile” (in our opinion, aptly so). This legendary retail stretch features a stellar line-up of luxury shops and retail flagships, ranging from Burberry and Escada to Ralph Lauren.
Catch the free trolley to Navy Pier, Chicago's family-friendly entertainment hub, home to 50 acres of parks, promenades, gardens, shops, eateries and attractions. Enjoy highlights like Chicago Shakespeare Theater, an IMAX Theatre and the Chicago Children's Museum plus summer fireworks that light up the sky.
Root, root, root for our (many!) home teams at the nearby United Center, home to the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks, and Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs. We’re also not far from U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox) and Soldier Field (Chicago Bears), as well as other smaller sports venues around town.
Chicago is home to more than 580 parks, giving every city adventurer access to some coveted green and lakefront beach to balance out all of the urban treasures. Near the hotel, you’ll find some breathing space at downtown spots like Maggie Daley, Grant and Millennium parks (for all those “Bean” selfies begging to be snapped).
